The Community Help & Advice Initiative (CHAI) delivers a broad range of social welfare and housing support services, operating from office bases in Wester Hailes, South Edinburgh and Oxgangs. Outreach services are also provided to the communities in North Edinburgh and Restalrig.

CHAI is a voluntary organisation with charitable status, and is established as a limited company managed by a voluntary Board of Directors (which meets monthly). Advice and support is provided by officers of the City of Edinburgh Council.
